Hong Yaw Chang
Second Violin
Hong Yaw Chang joined the Fritz Quartet as 2nd Violinist in September 2008. He first began his violin studies at the age of 17. Since then, he has obtained straight distinctions for all his graded practical exams, awarded by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). He currently holds the ABRSM Diploma in Violin Performance with Distinction.
Mr Hong was featured as soloist on the violin with the Singapore Armed Forces Band in its 'Concert in a Park' series at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. He also performed solo with the Ngee Ann String Ensemble. An active performer, he has played in ensembles such as the Chamber Players, the New Festival Orchestra and The Philharmonic Orchestra.
He has recorded for TV commercials such as the National Arts Council's Singapore Arts Festival TVC as well as on short film projects.
Apart from music, he has a passion for films. Of late, he's also starting to enjoy cable-skiing.
